Noah designs it exactly to Allie's request from years earlier... a white house with blue shutters. He restores the old piano, that was there, and that Allie played the night they seperated. He made a special room in the corner of the house, over looking the river, with all the paint supplies needed. Just like Allie told him before that she dreamth about.
Meanwhile, Allie went into the Active Army as a nurse and one day she came upon an injured soldier. Whom in his fit of pain asked Allie out. After his recovery, and Allie had forgotten, he showed up one day, asked her out, she accepted. He was of high class, born into wealth, and therefore was an immediate hit with Allie's parents. He soon after asked their permission for Allie's hand in marriage. They agreed & once asked Allie accepted. But at that exact moment that Allie accepted, the only picture that came to her mind, was Noah. She and her mother extend crucial planning into the wedding and while her wedding dress fitting she seen a picture, that made the paper. It was of Noah, standing in front of a beautifully remodeled, completed White Victorian house with blue shutters. Allie immediately fainted at the sight, and her mother instantly thought oh dear.
The sight that Allie witnessed in the paper was enough to make her doubt her want to marry her fiancee. She told him that she had some things that she needed to clear up and that there was nothing at all to worry about. But said that she did need some time to herself. He agreed & she made the long drive back to Noah...
Upon her arrival....
Noah is stunned to see the excited Allie, although she was lost for words. She comes inside and she and Noah talk for hours. Catching up and reminiscing. Afterward she finds herself more confused and possibly lost in love, with Noah. She spends days there, enjoying herself with Noah. She stays the night, but in the morning her mother shows up eager to find what has kept her daughter so content the past few days. But finding her at Noah's is not a surprise. She talks to Allie & admits to her about keeping the letters from Allie, she admits that she interfered for no other reason then she wanted better for her only daughter.
